Knights Family Dentistry

Dr. Alan Katende received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, D.C. Dr. Katende received advanced training in general dentistry at Bronx Lebanon Hospital and completed an oral and maxillofacial surgery fellowship at Columbia University, both in New York. To keep up with advancements in his field, Dr. Katende continues to take continuing education courses in implants, orthodontics, and oral surgery.

Dr. Katende’s philosophy and approach to dentistry, and family dentistry in particular, includes focusing on preventive dentistry. He believes that fluoride treatment combined with sealants — as well as dietary counseling at a young age — can prevent costly dental treatment down the road.

Dr. Katende loves playing sports and staying fit, and spending time with his family — his wife, Yasai, and their dog, Cairo. Dr. Katende is also passionate about music. He’s been playing piano and guitar since he was a child.
