At Westpark Pediatric Dentistry, our team strives to provide the most positive dental experiences possible for all of our infant, child, teen, and special needs patients. We are passionate about educating and treating each patient individually, comprehensively, and with compassion.

Dr. Malije Onwueme

Dr. Onwueme or Dr. “Mali” is a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist. She completed her undergraduate training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She went on to complete her dental school training at The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor where she received a distinction award for her community outreach initiatives in Public Health Dentistry in Kenya and South Africa.

She then completed a general practice residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, NY and subsequently practiced as a general dentist for a few years, before deciding to continue her studies and specialize in pediatric dentistry at the New York University Langone Lutheran Medical Center. For two years, she received extensive training in managing traumatic dental injuries; children with special needs; sedation dentistry; general anesthesia within office and in hospital setting. Dr. Mali continues to study advanced techniques and procedures within the growing field of pediatric dentistry.

“Treating all of my patients with passion and compassion” remains her motto. She is dedicated to the community and enjoys traveling nationally and internationally for various dental outreach initiatives. Locally, she volunteers regularly with various non-profit organizations within the community including the Mission of Mercy and Kids Meals, Inc.

She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a proud active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), and the Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She also maintains staff privileges at several local hospitals.

With a big smile and a positive attitude, Dr. Mali aims to provide an exceptional dental experience for children along with a warm and caring environment for families. She resides locally with her husband and two toddlers that keep her very active. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, watching soccer, and any eating activity. She also loves to hear a good ‘Knock Knock’ joke.
